2018 Information coming soon......This year we’re changing a few things based on member feedback:
We have also created a closed Facebook group where club members can organise informal social rides and events between themselves (note: such rides are not organised or otherwise endorsed by the club, members organise and participate at their own risk): https://www.facebook.com/groups/MTBGuisborough THE RIDES...'First Thursday’ Coaching Clinics
Led by a qualified MTB coach, these sessions will focus on core skills such as riding-position, cornering, braking and descending. We’ll also aim to cover any specific requests from the group - struggle with step-downs or terrified by drop-offs? Want to fall-off less or develop your confidence? Come along to these rides and we’ll help steer you in the right direction. Ladies Only – 2nd Thursday of every month A fun social ride exploring the quality trails of Guisborough forest – with guaranteed 0% testosterone! Routes will vary from ride to ride and at the pace of the slowest rider, expect a distance of approximately 10-15km, a few hills and as much singletrack as possible! Rides will generally include some ‘red’ grade technical sections – but’s there’s no shame in getting off and pushing if you don’t feel confident! Info and Cost In order to cover costs and keep the rides sustainable we charge a small fee for attendance:
Booking Booking in advance is not compulsory but places are strictly limited to 8 riders per group. You can guarantee a place by clicking the button below (available until 24hrs before the rides). ‘On the day’ places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Insurance and Risk
As with all sports, Mountain Biking carries an inherent level of risk. It is the riders’ responsibility to ride within their own limits, there’s no shame in pushing sections you don’t feel comfortable riding or slowing down if the pace is too high. The official rides are insured in respect of legal liabilities (third party liability). However, participants have no personal accident cover. It is the participant’s responsibility to arrange for any extension of insurance cover if required. Rider information and consent All riders must complete an information form before they can participate in any activities. This form should be completed online before you attend any rides. *We cannot take a rider out unless this form is completed prior to the ride*
Dates and Times All rides run from 6:15pm – 8:00pm* and depart from Pinchinthorpe Visitors Centre, Guisborough *To maximise ride time the groups will aim to leave promptly at 6.15. The duration of the rides may vary slightly according the weather and the group on the day.
